Canada’s Riviera on Vancouver Island.
If you love all types of beaches, this area’s 19 kilometers of shoreline are perfect for you. There are the wide sandy expanses of Rathtrevor and Parksville Community Beaches; the paved promenade and picnic areas of Qualicum Beach; or the beachcombing delights of Lighthouse Country.
On Vancouver Island’s eastern shore, currents and ocean floor topography combine to create wide, flat expanses of sand where low tide goes out for a kilometer. Long summer days warm the water to as much as 20°C and tidal pools are brimming with sea stars, crabs and sand dollars.
